As a teenager, I am always busy. Whether it be school, homework, or sports, I feel like I’m always awake, always doing something; my brain is always turning. My life has turned into a routine. A routine that felt endless. When I started SHIFT, that changed. It was like a breath of fresh air. I could be a part of something that was meaningful, and that would make a difference. My routine has meaning that goes beyond just me. As a teenager, I am small. I never thought my voice would be heard, but at SHIFT, my voice is always heard. I can speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, which is the greatest gift I have been given.
